ENGLAND VS SCOTLAND RIVALRY IGNITED BYEDDIE JONES

Sunday, March 12th, 2017

By warning Scotland not to allow their confidence turn into complacency, Eddie Jones has ignited the Calcutta Cup fuse.

In less than a week’s time, the teams would head out to Twickenham on Sunday. The match is expected to be a major deciding factor in the outcome of the Six Nations Championship

Where Scotland can pull off a confident win at Twickenham, they would be heading home with their first win at the Twickenham since 1983. They go into the round four with the knowledge that they can make some major shakeup in the contest for the title, win the Triple Crown and shatter England’s hopes of a Grand Slam.

The opening weekend of the competition saw the Scottish team prevail over Ireland, while also defeating Wales last Saturday in a 29-13 victory. Since then, the confidence level of the team has been on the rise. However, they would be facing an England side recently coming away from their not so great experience against Italy last week Sunday. (more…)

Niall Morris Quits Professional Rugby

Monday, October 10th, 2016

The utility back player of Leinster Rugby Niall Morris has decided to call it quits and will not be playing rugby anymore.

The decision was forced on Niall Morris due to the ankle injury that he suffered last year.

Niall, who is just 28 years old, played in the two friends of the Bank of Ireland pre-season games, but could not feature in the third one against Bath. He was not able to play for his team in the first couple of rounds of Guinness PRO 12. After having consultations with a leading UK medical consultant as well as the Leinster medical team, Niall decided to quit the sport and not to further risk his injury.

It is his ankle that has given him a lot of pain and that has made him to end his career sooner than expected. Niall suffered an ankle fracture and dislocation during a game against Bath in May 2015. He was in rehabilitation for 15 months, but felt that his ankle was not the same anymore. He decided to seek further opinion on his ankle and the seriousness of the injury. In the end, he had no other choice, but quit playing rugby.

Joe Marler Defends Team But Gets Warning

Friday, August 12th, 2016

There has been a lot of theatrics that could deviate one’s mind from the main game though Eddie is determined to let nothing stand in the way of him leading his men to victory. One such incidence that has occurred concerns Joe Marler.

He has been issued a warning from formal RFU over the comments he has passed over Bob Dwyer. It shows that players need to be careful about what kind of posts they put up on social media channels that is not exempted from scrutiny. Marler passed a derogatory comment against Dwyer when there was a claim that Dan Cole might have scrimmaged in an illegal manner in the first Test.

The tweet in answer was a reaction from Joe which was natural but not acceptable against people like a former coach Bob Dwyer. Hence, he has been issued a warning and he would have to follow the warnings that RFU has in place. The organization has strict norms about the use of social media in such contexts and it seems that Joe has certainly rubbed people the wrong way as a result. (more…)
